Car rental requirements in Dubai
What to bring, what is included and what must be confirmed before we hand over a vehicle.
UAE residents
Bring your original valid Emirates ID and UAE driving licence. Every renter and authorised driver must be at least 21. Final eligibility remains subject to the selected vehicle and the active insurer requirements.
Tourists and visitors
Bring your passport, valid UAE entry evidence and original driving documents. A visitor with a valid licence from a GCC or current RTA exception country may be eligible to drive on that recognised licence. Other visitors should bring their original valid national licence together with a valid International Driving Permit. We verify the current requirements before confirming the rental.
Before collection
We confirm the vehicle or category, VAT-inclusive price, rental period, mileage allowance, deposit, delivery or collection arrangement and applicable insurance details in writing. A website form or WhatsApp message is an enquiry, not a reservation.

What documents do UAE residents need?

What documents do tourists need?
A passport, valid UAE entry evidence and an accepted driving licence. Visitors from a GCC or current RTA exception country may be eligible to use their recognised licence; otherwise bring the original national licence and a valid International Driving Permit.
Is a security deposit required?
Yes. The standard deposit is AED 1,000 for economy sedans and compact hatchbacks, AED 1,500 for compact crossovers and mid-size sedans, and AED 2,500 for SUVs and vans. Card pre-authorisation is preferred where supported.
How much mileage is included?
The standard allowance is 250 km daily, 1,500 km weekly and 2,500 km monthly. Additional kilometres are AED 0.50 for economy, hatchback, crossover and mid-size categories, and AED 1 for SUVs and vans.
What happens after an accident?
Contact TNI immediately and obtain the police report required by the rental agreement and insurer. Do not arrange repairs without written approval.
Are website enquiries confirmed bookings?
No. A booking is confirmed only after TNI confirms availability, eligibility, price and the transaction details in writing.
